A SAFE WORLD FOR OUR KIDS!

CHILD SAFETY'S GREATEST ASSET!

A new era in child safety!

SAFETY'S GREATEST ASSET!

Break this cycle of injuries!

We often search for answers when the solution is already available - often it is staring us in the face. We ignore the obvious so we can find the "answer"! And so it is with safety.

We as a society are looking for answers to keep kids safe. A child equipped with safety training skills, can help break this cycle of injuries. On order to give a child the training they need they need 3 important "safety tools":

1. Basic safety training
2. Re-eforcement of safety training
3. Memory tools

"Tools" to help prepare children to be safe - HERE!

PARENT'S SAFETY TOOL KIT

The child is the "key". They can take an active role in safety in order to help their parents keep them safe. The child can be asset or the child can be hindrance in safety matters.

When there is an accident to a child, they are always the "first one at the scene". Also, before the accident, they were in most cases the one most likely to have prevented it from occurring.

The child's role is to assist the parent in making their world safe. With training they can be an asset in providing a safe environment. Without training, the child is totally dependent on an adult's protection. At some point every child will have opportunities that if they had training they could say "no" I am not going to that because "I know that might be injured."

DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

SAFETY DEVICES ARE GOOD - ARE THEY 100% ? N0!

Much of the approach to safety has been to place protective “things’ that will keep the child safe. Examples are “child proof” medicine bottle caps or locks in critical areas like kitchen cabinets.

Car seats are another example of a device designed to protect children. These are good and useful approaches and in many cases absolutely essential. However, as a child grows up and becomes more mobile they will find new ways and places to get hurt.

Are we currently training our children?

When they leave their own protected space, next to Mom or Dad, and begin to explore the world; they will become “exposed” to more and more dangers. The question is simple. Are we currently training our children for the many risks that they will face? The answer is clearly – no! If you look at deaths and injuries to children, we have a long way to go.

If you tell your child to be careful -do they know how to be careful?

A child who has been trained in safety matters and uses those skills is “smart”! We call the children who both know safety and use it - “Safety Smart Kids”. "Safety training" and "safety knowledge" is worthless without the “smarts, inclination, desire, motivation, and/or intelligence” to apply the knowledge.

Will they learn as they go?

An untrained child is like a “robot” that you turn on and let them move about the world experiencing the environment without regard to injury. With no foreknowledge of danger, they will learn as they go.

Touch a flame on the candle, and they now understand that they should not do this again. However, if they were to fall from the top of a tree - the learning experience may be over, if they don’t survive the experience.

Why should I learn safety?

Train your child so they are safety smart!

Children have tremendous safety potential! They can hear, smell, taste, feel, see, and most importantly they can think. Children with physical limitations can also help their parents and themselves by learning about safety.

Their training needs to be customized according to their needs. The child has safety potential, yet, if we don’t teach them how to use these wonderful gifts, then we are back to our “robot” child, which stumbles through the environment hopefully learning safety as they go.

Safety requires renewal!

Safety is way down on our list, even though, it is a matter of life or death. Yes, there are parents who know a great deal about safety and have trained their children. But even in those homes, is there an active on going plan to keep their children’s safety training- refreshed?

Safety training fades away!
Danger tends to remain ever present, however, safety training fades away. Renewal of safety concerns is essential to keep safety alive and well! Safety skills are like air in a tire. If you don't "pump it up" every now and then, it will go flat!

Our “Safety Tool Kit” will help keep you and your family “active – alive – breathing – sensing – thinking – connected – and effective” in safety matters.

GETTING STARTED!

Being a “Safe Parent” is not a one time event; it is not something you became once upon a time; it is something you are at this moment. Once you put on the “Hat” the responsibility is forever.

SAFETY TRAINING IS NOT AN OPTION!

Wait, don’t be discouraged – this may sound like a lot of work. Safety – once you get it started, only takes a little effort. It is a “state of mind” or a “state of readiness” that will respond to threats with appropriate response.

Once you get it – you got it – you take control of your family’s safety. Your kids do the same thing. Once they get it – they got it! Your job is keep it “alive” and on “the refrigerator door of life”. It is a consideration for everything that you or you kids ever do! Everything!

A TRAINED CHILD IS POWERFUL FORCE IN THE GAME OF SURVIVAL!

The human mind is an incredibly powerful computer with sensors connected to the environment. If we can provide these “minds” with the information they need and motivation to not to get hurt, then we have broken the “code”.

Don't turn your kid lose in this world with "0" in safety training!

The mainstream effort to remove danger from children is a good approach to a limited extent. You can’t build a fence to keep the cows in forever - for sooner or later they will get out on to the highway.

The same thing exists with mechanical protection safety devices such as locking medicine caps, locking doors, safety fences, plus many other devices - they are not fool proof because humans must lock them and sometimes they are left open.

Perhaps we are visiting "Uncle Harry's" house, "Harry" doesn't have a "clue" about child safety. He leaves his pistol out on the back bedroom dresser. This is a perfect setup for disaster!

Every child will someday face

their first test!

Even if parents use extreme measures to protect their children, they will be unable to watch or guard their child every second of every day. It is virtually impossible. We have a long way to go to before anyone can claim even a partial victory. The child remains as the solution. If trained, a child offers an extra level of protection.

The qualities that help us be safe!
